Details
The sections below explain the main areas of the patient details screen and how to use them.
Patient Header Bar
The blue bar at the top of the patient details screen provides key patient information at a glance.
- MOB: Clicking the mobile number will allow you to directly call the patient if your system is connected to a telephone program.
- NHI Number: Clicking the NHI code will copy it to your clipboard.
- Date of Birth (DOB): Clicking the DOB will also copy it to your clipboard.
Next Appointment & Tasks
This section shows the patient’s upcoming appointments and allows you to create tasks.
- Next Appointment: This area will appear whenever the patient has upcoming appointment. It displays the date, time, duration, clinic location, consultant, and appointment type.
- Create Task: Click this button to create a tasks related to the patient.
Edit & Labels
This section contains action buttons for quick patient management.
- Edit: Click to update the patient’s details.
- Print PDF: Print patient details in PDF format for offline or physical records.
- Labels: Print Patient, Address, or GP labels directly to your Dymo printer.

Patient Details
This section provides an overview of the patient’s key information.
Next of Kin
When editing a patient you can add a Next of Kin.

Text Field: Allows a free text field to enter Next of Kin details.

Link to another patient: Allows another patient in your Elixir platform to be linked as the Next of Kin.
Assign a Tag
You can assign a patient tag while editing patient details. Click in "Search tags" under the Tags heading and select a tag that you have previously created.
Contact Details
This section contains phone numbers, email and address information.
Phone Numbers
When entering phone numbers, the leading 0 will be removed.
Address Finder
When editing a patient, start typing an address into the Address Finder field. This will use Google Maps to look up the address. Click the correct address and this will fill in the address fields for you.
Location Access
Allow location access when asked to use the address finder.
Alerts
This section allows you to record and view patient alerts, allergies, medications, and health conditions.
Patient Alerts: Important notes that need to be visible at a glance. These will also display on:
- Appointments Page
- Agenda
- Patient Notes List
Allergies: Any recorded allergies will also appear in the Patient Notes section.
Medications & Health Conditions: Record and review ongoing treatments or conditions for the patient.
Tip
Patient Alerts, Allergies, Medications, and Health Conditions can also be automatically inserted into clinic letters, notes, emails, etc. using Input Templates with the INS option.
Referral Details
The Patient Details section will display the most recent referral, as long as it has not been discharged. This includes:
- Status
- Referred by
- Notes
- All referral custom fields
Clicking on the subject of the referral will redirect you to the referral in Patient Notes.
Additional Information
Create Custom Fields to record patient-specific information that your clinic requires, such as funding or employer details.
Tip
Your Custom Fields can be used to automatically populate information in clinic letters and notes via Input Templates.
Date of Death
Date of Death will not appear unless it is filled in on the edit screen. Once completed, it will appear in the Additional Information area. A 'Deceased' patient level will also appear in the top left of the patient details screen.
