Referrals

Create a new Referral

Press New then select Referral

  • Title will show in the Notes Navigation, and in areas where you are selecting a referral (eg invoicing)
  • Choose a date for the referral
  • If necessary change the status of the referral
  • Select the referrer from your Contacts (Optional)
  • Select which Consultant the referral is addressed/assigned to

For ACC injuries fill the ACC Claim Number and ACC DOI fields. These fields can populate in ARTPs, ACC18s and other templates such as Letter and Billing Templates.

  • If you have Referral Custom Fields eg Body site these can be entered
  • Optionally add more detail about the referral in the content box
  • Attach any related documents as required
  • Click Create to save the referral

Keep track of your patients

Use the referral statuses to track where a patient is at within their patient journey. For more information on how to utilise this tool within Elixir please see our Patient Tracking Guide

Referrals from inbound mail

Inbound Healthlink Documents, or emails can be saved as a referral directly from the Inbox

  1. Assign the inbound message to a patient, and a consultant
  2. Click Save and choose Save as Referral

  3. Enter a Subject/Title and select a Referrer from your Contacts (Optional)
  4. Press Save as Referral
    Save as Referral
  5. Edit the referral in the patient file to add more information e.g. ACC information and other details in the context box.

CC Section - Coming soon...

If you want to CC a contact for this particular referral in your letters every time—for example, the patient’s referrer or GP—you can set this up in the CC section of the referral: CC - Referral

  1. Open the referral you want to use.
  2. In the CC section, add the contact(s) you want to include.
  3. Save the referral.

Now, whenever you add this referral to a letter, the CC contact(s) will automatically populate in the letter’s CC section. Visit Letters for more information.
