Authy - 2 Factor Authentication
Authy is a popular two-factor authentication (2FA) app that adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts. Remember, 2FA is an essential security measure. While it adds an extra step to your login process, it significantly boosts the security of your online accounts. Always use 2FA wherever possible!
Warning
If you forget your phone and therefore do not have access to Authy, Elixir cannot deactivate your Authy to allow you access to Elixir for security reasons. An attacker could be impersonating you in an attempt to bypass Authy security. You will need to have an alternative method for getting access to your Authy account. We recommend having Authy installed on your computer for these scenarios, provided your computer has encryption enabled and a strong password.
Alternatively, ask another member of your team to create a new temporary Elixir user to give you access.

When logging into a service where you've set up 2FA with Authy, you'll enter your usual username and password first. Then, you'll be prompted for a 2FA code.

Keep your Recovery Options Updated
If using SMS recovery, ensure that the phone number linked with Authy is always up to date. If you change your number, update it in Authy.
Avoid Deactivating Authy Recklessly
If you're switching phones or need to reinstall, ensure you have backups enabled or have access to your original device. Deactivating Authy without a backup can lock you out of your accounts.
