Add Billable Items to an Appointment Type:
Certain appointment types often require the same billable items every time they are invoiced to a patient.
This feature allows you to configure appointment types so that when an invoice is created, pre-selected billable items are automatically added, saving time and reducing manual entry.
Pre-requisites:
- Billable items must be created in Xero.
- The clinic’s Xero account must be connected to Elixir: Connecting Xero
Steps to Add Billable Items:
- Open an existing Appointment Type.
-
Click on Add Billable Item button.
-
Select the Xero account and the Consultant you would like to include.
- Select the Billable Item you want to include on the invoice for this appointment type.
- Click Create.
-
To add more billable item logic, click Add Billable Item again and then click on Create. For example, select a different consultant with a different item.
-
Once all billable items have been added, click Create to save the appointment type.
Creating Invoices:
- When creating an invoice from Office > Invoice, if the appointment type is linked to billable items, the system will automatically populate the invoice with those items.
- When creating an invoice from Patient > Invoices and selecting an appointment, billable items will also auto-populate if they are mapped to the appointment type.

Reminder
Automatically added items appear in yellow to indicate they were added by automation.
