Laboratory Tests through eOrder
Order Laboratory tests and view patient lab results through Elixir's integration with eOrder.
To use eOrder you need to register with the labs your patients will be using:
- Awanui (Labtests, SCL, Medlab South, Northland Pathology, Taranaki Pathology)
- Medlab Central
- Pathlab
Using eOrder
- Navigate to a Patient's notes and click New > Test Request.
- Select the lab that you require (Awanui eOrder, Medlab Central or Pathlab). This will open eOrder in a new tab.

If the data you have in Elixir is different to Eclair's data you will need to choose which information to use. Click on the bottom button to make your choice.

Select the tests you require.
Tip
The blue left arrow indicates there are existing results for this test. Click the arrow to view the results.

Click Next. A preview of your Lab Request is displayed.

Click Place order
Warning
If you do not click Place Order your test will not go through.

When you click Place Order, eOrder should prompt you to print the lab form. This is not necessary unless the patient wants a copy.
Warning
If using Firefox, it seems the print popup doesn't appear. We suggest using Chrome/Edge in the meantime. We are working with the labs to resolve this issue.
Viewing Results
You can view recent results including viewing trends over time.
- Navigate to "View Results/Amend Orders" on the bottom left of the screen
- On the left column you will see previous test results listed. Click on the name to see the results
- You can also produce cumulative and graphical reports.
Tips
If using Medlab Central you will need to click New Order to create your lab request.
